About

Hi! I'm Vivian, a Master's student in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University and a UX Designer at AbbVie. Originally from Seattle, Washington, I've always been drawn to the intersection of design and technology. My journey began in high school, where a summer program blending virtual reality and architecture sparked my interest in the built environment. This led me to study architecture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I gained experience in 3D design, rendering, and spatial thinking — before discovering my deeper passion in the technical side of design and switching to Information Science with a focus on HCI/UX.
Since then, I've grown through internships, research, and hands-on projects: designing information architecture at Kinnect, doing UX work at AbbVie, and winning both the Grand Prize and People's Choice Award at AbbVie's internal hackathon, HackVie 2026. My design background shapes how I approach every problem — with attention to structure, hierarchy, and the human experience of moving through a space, whether physical or digital.
I design with empathy, intention, and a research-driven mindset. Let's create meaningful user experiences together!
